2008 Events

 

February 2, 2008

The Old Time Fiddlers Classic

Carroll Green Civic Center - Quitman, Texas

 

Registration starts at 11:00 am – Competition starts at 12:30pm.

There will be 4 age groups  0-18, 19-40, 41-65, 66 and older.

 

Admission is free, in order to compete you must be a member of the Texas Old Time Fiddlers Association ($25.00 ) per year.  There will be a chance to join at the door.

 

$2,500.00 in prize money plus 1st place winners in all catagories will receive an engraved belt buckle.  We will be selling chances for a Henry “Goldenboy” 22. Mag rifle, 2 Light Crust Doughboys Diamond Jubilee Guitars, a Light Crust Doughboy Diamond Jubilee Mandolin.  We will be auctioning off a Light Crust Doughboy Banjo.  You must be 18 to purchase a chance for the rifle.

Billy Mata 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

The Light Crust Doughboys 8:00pm – 9:30 pm

 

Saturday May 3

Gayle Hague and Lone Star Express 11:30 am – 1:00 pm

Clyde Brewer and the River Road Boys 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

Eddie McAlvain and the Mavericks 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm

Higher Trails 5:30 – 6:15 pm

Fiddle Showcase 6:30pm -  7:30 pm

Dave Alexander and his Big Texas Swing band 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

 

Also there will be Art in the Park again Friday Saturday and Sunday

 

The price is $12.00 for Friday night, Saturday day, and Saturday night.

$20.00 for Saturday day and night together and $30.00 for all weekend. 17 and under are free.
